Yup. Overlooking the football pitches and close to two pubs.

Just down the road a tiny bit and you reach Harpurhey.

Was dragged up in Moston, used to walk past here every school day on the way up to North Manny.

Sarah, Where I live now that kind of money gets you this*, and I can personally guarantee no smackheads or burnt out cars in the fields. Or am I being unfair, has the area really improved that much since 1989?

*Granted only 3 beds and not as bling but on the same scale

The problem is in Moston I imagine the average wage is minimum. It's got a huge range of social issues still - possibly more now than then but I think less drugs.

This one will not sell at that price - as you point out there are nicer places to spend that sort of money.

Ace garden on that one!

Harperhey is still just down the road and Moston Lane is a wierd place with lots of cheapy shops and "send money abroad" shops.

The gentrification of New Moston hasn't rubbed off on that way. And even New Moston has scumbag chavs.

So 14 months after your original post Sarah, still on the market and not a penny knocked off it. I'd love to know how many viewings they've had. I'd be stunned if they'd had more than 5.

Moston is a shithole. No two ways about it, this property will never sell at that price. Some sucker may bite at the £350k mark.

Yeah, this "Premium Listing" stuff is just more EA stupidity/desperation coming into play.

I watch a number of properties on Rightmove in South Manchester that have been listing since 2007. You tend not to think of that "peak" being too long ago, until you pick yourself up and realise that it's nearly 2012 now! And after 5 years of watching similar properties on the same streets sell at much reduced prices (and falling even faster now), these muppets (and their EAs) think a sale will be achieved by the attachment of a Bright, Red, Round Sticker with "Premium" written on it. Mad. But fun. :)

It's the insanity of the price for that location that astounds me, I don't give a toss how many bedrooms or bars it has got. I live on the doorstep of Moston and there is f**k all around there at all. A few rough pubs and a field, both of which you will get filled in off some scroate for looking at him the wrong way.

Honestly I can go live near Hyde Park for not much more and if I had that sort of money to blow on a house in Moston then that would seem like a better choice, it just wouldn't have a bar.

Eurrgh.. I know the area .... the extension is so big it had to have those odd looking joists instead of an open roof space/rafters only, to stop the wall falling down. It looks wrong.

See they are clutching at straws suggesting that it could be converted into a care home, what, rip out all that lovely décor?!?
